Crowdz App LLC ("Crowdz," "we," "us," "our") provides a mobile app and website that help people discover events and help hosts operate real-world communities, including ticketing, memberships, and messaging features. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal information when you use our Service.
1. Age Requirement and Children's Privacy
Crowdz is intended for users 18 years of age or older. We use date of birth during registration to verify eligibility. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete that information immediately. 2. Information We Collect
A. Account and Profile
- Name, email address, username, profile photo, and profile details you provide
- Date of birth for age verification purposes
- Phone number if provided
B. Location
- Approximate location for local event discovery
- Precise location only if you enable location permissions in your device settings. If you deny location permission, you may manually enter a location.
C. Content and Communications
- Posts, photos, videos, and other media you upload
- Private direct messages and related metadata
- Event interactions including RSVPs, follows, check-ins, and attendance records
- Reports and blocks submitted through the platform
D. Purchases and Transactions
- Purchase history and transaction records for tickets, host subscriptions, web memberships, and SMS credits
- Payment method details handled directly by our payment processors
- Referral tracking and attribution data
E. Moderation and Safety Data
- Reports submitted by or against your account
- Block actions initiated by or against your account
- Moderation actions taken on your account or content
F. Device and Usage Data
- Device identifiers and technical data including device type and operating system
- App usage patterns and diagnostics
- Analytics data collected through tools such as Google Analytics and Mixpanel
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide, operate, and improve the Service
- Personalize your experience including location-based event discovery
- Process transactions and enable payouts
- Enforce our Terms of Service and community standards
- Review and act on reports of objectionable content or abusive behavior
- Maintain platform safety and prevent fraud and abuse
- Communicate with you about your account, transactions, and Service updates
- Comply with legal obligations
4. Content Moderation and Safety
When you report a user or content, or when you block a user, that action is logged and reviewed by Crowdz for moderation purposes. We retain moderation data including reports and blocks to protect the safety of our community and to identify patterns of abusive behavior. Blocking a user immediately removes their content from your feed and prevents further interaction. All block actions are reviewed by our moderation team.
5. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information.
We share information with service providers as necessary to operate the Service, including:
- Database and hosting providers such as Supabase to store and deliver the Service
- Payment processors including Stripe for tickets and web purchases, and Apple and Google for in-app subscriptions
- Analytics providers including Google Analytics and Mixpanel to understand usage and improve performance
- Communication providers for email, push notification, and SMS delivery
- DocuSign for electronic contract execution for program participants
We may also share information when required by law, to respond to valid legal requests, or to protect the rights, safety, and integrity of the platform and its users.
6. Your Choices and Controls
- Location: You can enable or disable location permissions at any time in your device settings
- Notifications: You can manage push notification preferences within the app under Settings
- Blocking: You can block any user at any time from their profile. Blocked accounts are managed in Settings under Privacy and Notifications
- Account Deletion: You can delete your account at any time from within the app. Upon deletion we delete or anonymize your personal data where feasible. We retain limited records where required for legal, accounting, fraud prevention, or safety purposes including transaction records and moderation history

7. California Privacy Rights
If you are a California resident, you have certain rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to request deletion of your personal information, and the right to opt out of the sale of your personal information. 8. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide the Service and fulfill the purposes described in this policy. Certain records including transaction data, moderation history, and audit logs may be retained longer to comply with legal and accounting requirements and to maintain platform integrity. User-generated content is deleted upon account deletion except where retention is required for ongoing safety or legal matters.
9. Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your personal information. Payment card details for Stripe transactions are handled entirely by Stripe. In-app subscription billing is handled by Apple and Google. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Third-Party Services
The Service integrates with third-party services including payment processors, analytics providers, and communication tools. These services have their own privacy policies and we encourage you to review them. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party services.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the Service evolves. If we make material changes we will post the updated version here with a new effective date. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
